Does Your Favorite Nonprofit need $1 Million?
Every year, we strive to raise the bar higher. With the success of our May 4th concert, which raised a whopping $852,722, and the selection of our 2014 partners, Communities In Schools of Durham and Communities In Schools of Wake County, thus begins our search for the 2015 nonprofit partner! For all interested applicants, we will be holding a Q&A session at Lincoln Theatre on Monday, July 15 at 5:30 p.m. Come with lots of questions, and stay after to network with Band Together leaders.
Lincoln Theatre 126 E. Cabarrus Street July 15 5:30 PM

With July 4th just having passed, I am excited about the time I spent with my family at the beach. The great food, the music, the games and all the memories that were created! As I pause, I am reminded of how lucky we are to live in this great country. No matter how divisive things can seem, we can always find common ground and reasons to be thankful. I invite you to find common ground here with us at Band Together. We are united by great music, a great cause and great people! I look forward to seeing you at the View Bar on July 11. I hope you and yours had a safe and happy 4th! We certainly have a lot to celebrate.back to top
Introducing Communities In Schools of Wake County
As we kick-off our 2014 partnership with both CIS Wake and CIS Durham, we want to first introduce you to CIS Wake and their leadership team! CIS Wake works with students within the Wake Country Public School system. The organization’s goal is to see all their students graduate, enroll in post- secondary education and then go on to succeed in the workforce. CIS Wake has impacted more than 1,600 students, and with the addition of partners, volunteers, mentors and givers, the organization is continuing to grow.Communities In Schools of Wake County’s (CIS Wake) President, Travis Mitchell, joined the organization in October 2010. Travis has more than 20 years of media, marketing, and social entrepreneurship experience. Since joining CIS Wake, he has helped to significantly raise the bar for the organization thanks to many overnight stays in the office. Travis demonstrates his commitment to the environment by walking to any meeting that is held within 10 miles of the main office – often while whistling the tune of a favorite song. He is a Raleigh native and attended a Wake County Public School himself.back to top
