14 Days of Band Together

Band Together is blessed to have a generous community supporting us, primarily through our concert events. Over 14 years, we have grown to support organizations beyond Wake County, and raised over $3.5 million. Our footprint continues to grow and we are aggressive in our intention to improve more lives. We also know that not everyone is able to be a sponsor at an event, or even join us for a concert. And because every dollar matters, we’re asking our Band Together faithful to find the money under the couch cushions and make a small, but meaningful contribution this season. For 14 days leading up to Christmas, we’ll be posting reflections of the journey so far, talking about the impact that YOU have made possible, and providing simple and quick ways for anyone to give just a little. For more info or to give, visit the 14 Days of Band Together.back to top

The StepUp 25th Anniversary Event

StepUp25On October 10, 2014, StepUp Ministry hosted a gallery of photographs, Faces of Transformation, at Marbles Kids Museum to celebrate 25 years of service to unemployed, low-income individuals in the Triangle. Nearly 350 guests attended to view the photographic journey of five StepUp Ministry participants. The stories depicted in the gallery represent only a handful of the hundreds of individuals who have transformed their lives by finding gainful employment and learning the skills needed to sustain stable living in family and work over the long-term.The event raised $175,000, which will go towards the operational costs needed to teach 350+ people how to find and sustain employment, and to support 100+ and children in its yearlong life skills class. You can view images from this stunning gallery here. back to top

A Look Back at 2014

Last Band Standing-04-This year we topped the $3.5 million mark, but our success is measured in more than dollars. From Communities In Schools of Durham and Wake County to new partners and events, 2014 was also just plain FUN. We started the year with the Big Cahoot, raising thousands of dollars while wearing jeans and cowboy/girl boots! In March, our concert season was fully underway with our third Last Band Standing, showcasing local musicians where the winner, Jack the Radio, took the cash prize and a spot opening our Main Event.2014 Main EventThe spring concert with Hall & Oates marked our biggest lineup to date, with the Robert Randolph Band, Jack the Radio and DJ Logic. It was also our biggest venue (Walnut Creek Amphitheatre) and the biggest VIP party. And, we raised nearly $600,000 with our 2014 partners Communities In Schools of Durham and Wake County. In September we joined the Hopscotch party in downtown Raleigh to raise a little money at Deep South the Bar for our own new event, HOPEscotch. And in October we partnered with Cameron Village for a little fundraising and some BT Awareness at their backyard concert series. We documented much of the year through videos thanks to our friends at Trimark Digital.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_Isw5xZyBk&list=UUeyqmLN4ATEJue453_FGGVAback to top

A Season of Giving Back

As the holiday season rolls on, we wanted to help identify some local charities (many of which are our past nonprofit partners) that are spreading the cheer to those in need. Friends like Communities In Schools of Durham, Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, Urban Ministries of Wake County, Alliance Medical Ministry, Meals on Wheels (Durham) and more.We hope that this list will spark your philanthropic passion, and you will join them in their mission this month.  And remember, there are lots of non-monetary ways to give that make a big impact! back to top
