Got Silent Auction items?
Sales at the Silent Auction are critical in helping us meet our $1 Million goal at the May 3 event. We need items for our Silent Auction to be held in the VIP area at the main event on May 3. We need artwork, jewelry, spa services, tickets to events, golf lessons, and restaurant gift cards - anything that our patrons might be interested in buying. Here is a list of just a few of the awesome donations we have already received from our generous donors:
- A $1,000 credit toward a custom fretted instrument from Wes Lambe Guitars,
- A $100 gift certificate to the Angus Barn
- A Weber portable charcoal grill from Lowe’s Home Improvement
- Four group fitness classes from CORE Fitness.
If you or your business would like to donate something, or help us solicit donations, please email silentauction@bandtogethernc.org for more information. You can also find more information on the silent auction and the VIP experience on our website. We appreciate your help!back to top
Need a little more Rock ‘N’ Roll in your life?
We all have those super-athletic friends who are pumped to run their hearts out at this year’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon. Now you can say you were there… cheer them on while volunteering at the Band Together #1 water station at the event on Sunday, April 13!Why is it #1? Because it will be the best place to be in Raleigh and it is actually the first station on the course. We need 40-50 enthusiastic volunteers to help hand out water and encouragement to more than 12,000 runners. Volunteers are needed from 5-8:45 a.m. Kids are welcome to volunteer as well as long as they are accompanied by parent. Did someone say perks? You get a cool shirt AND get to hang out with some awesome BT folks! Click for more information or email amandacheney1@gmail.com.back to top
Fashionably philanthropic
We were honored to partner with the Emerge Fashion Show 2014—a fashion event that introduced emerging designers at The Stockroom on March 14. There were over 300 attendees and overall, the event raised $1,500 – which Emerge is donating to Band Together! If you didn’t make it out to the event, view photos from the event here.back to top
Mentoring matters- Catching up with CIS Durham
At our last After Work Social, we had the pleasure to meet some inspirational young men who work with CIS Durham through its Brother To Brother’s monthly mentoring breakfast. This program allows for younger students to learn from those older mentors who have successfully overcome adversity to realize their potential.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqbMOuB0DD8Adrian Dorsey, 17, a Hillside High School senior who participates in the monthly program said, “I want these young men to know that there are older kids doing what they’re supposed to do in the classroom.I’m helping out someone who’s younger than me, to see something positive ahead of them.”Read the full blog post here.back to top
