We're Only as Good as Our Friends!

As proud as we are of our success, in truth Band Together is an idea – a means to harness the energy and generosity of our volunteers, supporters and sponsors who share our passion for making the Triangle the greatest place ever to live. One of the most fortunate relationships we’ve built is our partnership with S&A Cherokee since their first sponsorship in 2009 to benefit the Lucy Daniels Center. A long-time leading sponsor who provides in-kind communications and public relations services to Band Together all year long, we asked Chuck Norman, owner and principal at S&A Cherokee, for his thoughts on sponsorship and giving back.

Nothing feels better than helping others.  Band Together’s proven success serves as our motivation year-to-year for our continuing sponsorship. As a communications firm, we strive to use our expertise in making sure that Band Together’s mission reaches all the right people, and that the organization continues to grow and raise the bar year after year.

To us, corporate citizenship means that we are able to combine our diverse skill sets to benefit a meaningful cause. By helping raise awareness and increase funding dollars for Band Together year after year, we are able to use our professional abilities in a philanthropic way to the true betterment of the community.

Many of the people who work at S&A Cherokee are highly involved in outside organizations, bringing our knowledge and talents outside of the office to join forces with other community members on a day-to-day basis. Our employees’ involvement includes The Miracle League of the Triangle, Catholic Charities, Rotary clubs, Raleigh/Wake Partnership to End Homelessness, and HopeLine, Inc , and many are members of local chambers. We encourage and support our employees’ involvement in the community. We also seek out volunteer opportunities we can participate in as a team, such as a recent Stop Hunger Now meal-packing event, and, of course, Band Together events.

We are excited about the 2014 partnership with Communities In Schools because education is something everyone here is very passionate about. We understand the role a mentor can play in a student’s life and the impact a safe learning environment has on a student’s success. Every student should graduate with the confidence that they will succeed in life.
