$852,722 Raised for BT Partnership with Tammy Lynn Center

2013 Band Together Benefit ConcertWe still can’t believe it. After more than a year of hard work – and one sweet, soulful, country croonin’ concert later – we’ve raised (with the help of thousands of our closest Triangle friends) more than $850,000 for our partnership with Tammy Lynn Center. Funds raised will go toward expanding services at TLC and improving the lives of the nearly 400 families TLC serves. This includes investing in interactive learning technology to allow for enhanced communication, securing life-saving medical equipment, and hiring a bilingual therapist to serve the growing needs of the Spanish-speaking community in Wake County. Thanks again to headliner Lyle Lovett and supporting local acts Delta Rae, Chatham County Line and Mac and Juice Quartet for your stellar performances. Check out the photos from this year’s event here. And we hope you’ll join us in the year ahead as we work to raise funds, raise awareness and raise the bar for our 2014 nonprofit partners, Communities in Schools of Durham County and Communities in Schools of Wake County.back to top

YOU Make Our World Go ‘Round

When we first embarked on this partnership with Tammy Lynn Center back in May 2012, we knew we had our work cut out for us ($850,000 fundraising goal) yet we felt so inspired and excited about the dynamic group of volunteers, supporters and sponsors we knew could take us there and beyond. And of course, you blew us away – with your donations (both cash and in kind), with your countless volunteer hours, with your word-of-mouth promotions, and with your passion above all else. Thank you, thank you, thank you – from the bottom of our hearts.A special thanks to our top sponsors who have helped us raise the bar yet again! Moose Tracks

Matt Strickland, Band Together Executive DirectorMattIt’s funny how many people commented this week, “I can’t believe you raised $852K in one night.” I guess it is time to let the secret out of the bag: it did not happen in one night. The partnership between Tammy Lynn Center and Band Together was an 18 month journey. The 2013 Main Event on May 4 was merely the celebration of a dream realized! I believe dreams like this are realized one dollar at a time, one step at a time and one day at a time. They do not automatically happen, but we make them happen. I raise my glass to all of the volunteers, staff and the community as a whole for their support each day for the last year and a half to help us realize our dream of increased awareness for Tammy Lynn Center and a better quality of life for the nearly 400 families they serve. Cheers!back to top

Love from TLC

HollyWe do not have words to convey to all of you at Band Together our heartfelt appreciation for your partnership with our mission this year! The 2013 Main Event was a smashing success! Ruth Pierce - Tammy Lynn’s mother , and a founding mother of our organization - was with us as we stood on stage to announce the total. I said to her, “We have come a long way from the pig picking days! Did you ever imagine getting a few hogs 44 years ago to start the Center would lead to this stage witnessing history being made?” I watched tears of joy roll down her face. It was priceless! When the towers came down on 9/11, I thank you for caring enough to give birth to Band Together!! And now, to all of you, your board, donors, sponsors and Roadies, thank you from the thousands of Tammy Lynn hearts that beat stronger because you cared, shared and believed in us and our mission! We love you.Holly_TLChttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpkaCmuKvnMback to top
