Band Together is fortunate to have many talented and passionate people serving on our Board of Directors. Each person brings a unique community perspective and a set of skills that will help us to achieve our goals in 2020 and beyond.
During their three-year term, board members’ responsibilities involve voting on important issues, committee involvement, recruiting and fundraising. Welcome to our new leaders, and we thank them for their service and efforts to make the Triangle even better.
Phil Gruber, Gruber Ventures:
Phil Gruber and his wife Shellie helped found Band Together. They are the proud parents of Max (14) and Sierra (12). Phil is planning to start his next company in 2021 and enjoys quality time with friends and family, mountain biking, snow skiing, wakesurfing, hiking, walking his 3 dogs and boating.
Christina Coffey:, CBRE- Raleigh
Christina Coffey is Vice President of Retail Services for CBRE|Raleigh focusing on Landlord and Tenant Representation. She has over 18 years of experience focusing on retail leasing and sales. She joined the Band Together family as a volunteer in 2011 and also currently serves on the SAFEchild Board of Directors and is a sustainer with the Junior League of Raleigh. She currently is the Immediate Past Chair of the Leadership Raleigh Alumni Association. The Triangle Business Journal selected her for the 40 Under 40 Class of 2013, recognizing her contributions to the commercial real estate industry and the community.
Christina is a 20-year Raleigh resident and has a B.A. in Communications from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. When she is not working or volunteering, you can find Christina at a concert, traveling the world, or spending time with friends.
Stephanie Sanders, Poyner Spruill :
Stephanie is an Ashe County, NC native, and attended Appalachian State University and University of North Carolina School of Law. She is an attorney at Poyner Spruill LLP, where she practices commercial real estate law. Stephanie has been a Band Together supporter for ten years, most recently as a member of the Advisory Board and event Sponsor. She and her husband, Mason, have two sons, Waylon and Rowan, and they all enjoy live music and playing outside.
Kimarie Ankenbrand, JLL:
Kimarie was born and raised in Dallas, TX where she thought she would live forever before saying yes to an amazing opportunity to move her family (Eric + 2 boys) to Raleigh 1 year ago to come lead and grow the JLL Raleigh office. Kimarie bleeds maroon and says gig’em after graduating from Texas A&M where she was also on the Women’s Swim Team. While she is deeply passionate about advancing diversity initiatives at JLL and in the Commercial Real Estate industry, she was meant to be a boy mom to Bruce (9) and Knox (6). You can either find her with her JLL teammates or making sure her two reckless boys stay out of the ER!
Peyton Black, Cherry Bekaert, LLP:
Peyton is a Raleigh native and enjoys seeing live music, cheering on the Tar Heels, and traveling to the NC coast and mountains with his wife and two boys, Peyt and Turner. Professionally, he has 20+ years of experience in accounting, consulting, and internal auditing in a variety of industries and is currently Director of Risk Advisory Services at Cherry Bekaert LLP. Band Together’s mission of mixing business and social good with live music directly aligns with two of his passions: supporting a variety of nonprofit organizations and live music.
Matt Illuzzi, Icimo:
Matt is a Director of Client Acquisition for icimo Analytics by Cherry Bekaert LLP. He’s an analytical, forward-thinking leader in finance and operations. Matt is a rocker that offers practical and innovative solutions in the areas of strategic planning, operational effectiveness, accounting compliance and marketing communications. He’s an alum of the Business School at Rutgers University in New Jersey, with a degree in Accounting.
Kyle Elliott, Wilbanks, Smith & Thomas Asset Management:
Kyle Elliott joined the Band Together Board of Directors after serving on the Band Together Advisory Board. Kyle is a Principal with Wilbanks, Smith & Thomas Asset Management, LLC managing wealth and investments for both individuals and institutions. Originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, he grew up in Wilson, NC and has lived in the Triangle for over 30 years. In addition to his work with Band Together, Kyle is a member of the Board of Directors for the NC Coastal Federation, a member of the Campbell University Trust Education Foundation Advisory Board, and a member of the Salvation Army of Wake County Advisory Board.
