Travers Brothership wins 7th Annual Last Band Standing

Asheville-based Alt-Rock Funk Band to Open Red Hat Concert

Raleigh, N.C., February 27, 2017 — Before a packed audience at Raleigh’s Lincoln Theatre, The Travers Brothership bested two other bands to be named the winner of Last Band Standing 2017. The show marked Band Together’s 7th annual band competition and was in support of the nonprofit’s 2017 partnership with the YMCA of the Triangle.Band Together NC, a Triangle-based organization that uses live music as a platform for social change, has become the largest charitable music event in the Southeast since its inception in 2001. This year’s partnership, which includes three live music events, aims to raise $1 million to build a YMCA in Southeast Raleigh that will serve as a beacon site to bring additional wellness, education, physical activity and nutrition, healthcare and employment opportunities to the community.Leading the Travers Brothership are Twin brothers Eric and Kyle Travers, who have been making music and performing together since they were 13 years old. In 2012, the brothers formed their latest project, Travers Brothership, an alternative, soul, and funk ensemble based out of Asheville, NC. Travers Brothership is currently touring the U.S. in support of "A Way To Survive" and writing songs for their highly anticipated sophomore release.“Our 7th Last Band Standing proved to be one of the best, highest-energy band competitions we’ve had to date,” said Matt Strickland, executive director for Band Together. “The Travers Brothership was a fan favorite and the judges agreed.
