Band Together Announces 2018 Partnership
Nonprofit to raise $1 Million with Triangle Family Services
Raleigh, N.C. (Nov. 3, 2016) – Band Together NC, a Triangle-based organization that uses live music as a platform for social change, has announced Triangle Family Services as its 2018 nonprofit partner. Triangle Family Services utilizes proven interventions to deliver compassionate client centered services that support a safe, secure and stable community. Together, the organizations will focus on strengthening the community by providing services which strengthen families.“We are fortunate to have a rich, thriving nonprofit community,” said Matthew Strickland, executive director of Band Together, “And that was evident during our annual partner selection process. This year there were many worthy and outstanding nonprofits who applied and reached the round of finalists. Choosing only one partner is difficult, but we are excited about our partnership with Triangle Family Services and the collective impact we will make in our community.”In 2018, Band Together and Triangle Family Services (TFS) aim to raise more than $1 million through corporate and individual donations, and grants. Proceeds raised during the 2018 partnership year will be used for initiatives to close the mental health services and funding gap in our community, address family safety by expanding the TFS re-entry program for women, and improve their capacity to manage a community-wide coordinated assessment network related to housing.“With our selection of Triangle Family Services, we continue our focus on making the Triangle a great place for everyone to live, work, play and raise a family,” said Strickland. “Mental health services, family support and housing are critical needs in our community, and we are excited about our ability to partner and affect positive change.”"We are excited to join Band Together and elevate our work in the Triangle,” said Alice Lutz, CEO of Triangle Family Services. “Through our partnership, we can expand services as well as our reach to more families and individuals in need throughout the Triangle. And, in just the past four years, Band Together has raised nearly $4.5 million with Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, Communities In Schools of Wake County and Communities In Schools of Durham County, StepUp Ministry and the 2016 partner, KidzNotes.Past nonprofit partners have included Urban Ministries of Wake County, Alliance Medical Ministry, StepUp Ministry, The Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood, SAFEChild, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle and more.
