Dr. Bacon Wins Band Together’s 6th Annual “Last Band Standing”
Raleigh, N.C. (April 18, 2016) – In a packed house at Lincoln Theatre last Saturday night, music fans cheered on three talented bands at Band Together’s 6th annual “Last Band Standing” event, the biggest philanthropic music competition to hit the Triangle. Appalachian “funk-grass” band Dr. Bacon won the musical face-off, taking home a $1,000 cash prize and a coveted spot opening Band Together’s Main Event, headlined by Trampled By Turtles on May 14 at Red Hat Amphitheater.Triangle-based Band Together NC uses live music as a platform for social change. This year’s Last Band Standing event is part of the fundraising campaign to raise $1 million to benefit the 2016 Band Together/Kidznotes partnership. Kidznotes uses orchestral music training to change the life trajectory of underserved K-12 students in Raleigh and Durham.
