Welcome Penn Holderness to our Advisory Board

Penn Holderness spent years coming into our living rooms through our TV sets as an evening anchor locally for WNCN, but it was his video skills that made him a household name - in the Triangle and beyond. And now we are lucky to call him a member of our advisory board.A Durham native and graduate of Jordan High, Penn went on to graduate from "The University" (of Virginia) before returning to the Triangle, where he caught the broadcast bug as an intern with WTVD on their sports team. From there he worked at stations in Colorado and Orlando, before coming home to sit at the anchor desk for WNCN. And while he was there he got his first taste of Band Together, serving two years as our mad-cap, recorder-playing emcee and entertaining the crowd.Since then, a lot has changed for Penn. He started Greenroom Communications, a full-service video production and digital marketing company where he serves as s Managing Partner. He also serves on the stewardship committee at White Memorial Church and served as a trustee for Hospice of Wake County Foundation. He is active in giving back, and has emceed (or will soon emcee) fundraisers for Note In the Pocket, the Me Fine Foundation, YMCA Camp Kanata, St Baldrick's and Kidznotes. And Greenroom volunteers regularly at the Shepard's Table in Downtown Raleigh.In addition to serving on our advisory board, you can catch Penn as emcee for Last Band Standing on April 16 at Lincoln Theatre, and we're pleased to announce that Greenroom will generously be providing in-kind strategy and consulting services for Band Together's communications and social media needs.But the reason we all know Penn - and the whole Holderness Family (The Holderni) - is because they let us peer into their funny, hectic and quirky lives, which look a lot like our own. There are lots of videos at their website, but the best known, "Christmas Jammies," has almost 16.6 MILLION views on YouTube... and counting.
