We are pleased to welcome a new crew of leaders to the Band Together Board of Directors and Advisory Board.
Board of Directors
The new board members join 12 business and community leaders and during their three-year term, board members’ responsibilities involve voting on important issues, committee involvement, recruiting and fundraising.Doug MiskewCEO, Public Sector Group, LLCDoug Miskew is a 17-year resident of the Triangle, and he previously served as Senior V.P. of Public Affairs at Capstrat and Director of Government Relations for IBM. He is the chair of Board of Visitors for Appalachian State University and past annual fund chair for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.He’s married with two kids – a son at the University of South Carolina is daughter is a freshman at Appalachian State.Kimberly PhillipsSenior Vice President and Private Client Advisor, U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth ManagementRelatively new to our area, Kim Phillips comes to the Triangle after more than 15 years in banking in New York. Previously an Executive Director with J.P Morgan’s Private Bank in New York, she has spent the majority of her career helping individuals and families manage their wealth. Actively involved in her community, Kim is a board member for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development and an active member of the Association for Corporate Growth and the Durham Rotary. She and her husband, a Plastic Surgeon at Duke, live in Durham.Henry WardPartner, Loden PropertiesHenry has been a Triangle resident for almost 20 years – having attended NC State and never left. Prior to forming Loden, he was with York Properties in Raleigh for nine years. A graduate of North Carolina State University, he also received a Juris Doctorate from the University of North Carolina School of Law.Henry has been a part of Band Together for six years, serving in roles ranging from volunteer to the board of advisors, nonprofit selection committee, VIP chair most recently as co-chair of the main event in 2015. He also serves on the board of Rebuilding Together and the NC State Parks’ North Carolina Trails Committee and he supports the Southeast Raleigh Y initiative.
Advisory Board
New advisory board members will join 45 business and community leaders. During their three-year term, advisory board members’ responsibilities include annual and long-term fundraising and giving feedback and advice to the Band Together board of directors.Robin AndersNAI Carolantic RealtyA Triangle Resident since she was four, Robin has been a commercial real estate broker with NAI Carolantic Realty for eight years. Before that with she worked with Highwoods Properties for 10 years. She is a strong believer in and champion for the work of Best Friends Pet Adoption. Married for 18 years, she and her husband have a 12 year-old daughter, a nine year-old son, and a house in the country with dogs, horses, goats, chickens and two new kittens.And she believes strongly that she kept Danny Rosin and “Body Billboards” in business while she was a student at UNC-Chapel Hill – buying sorority t-shirts and creating T’s for her acoustic band, She Said.Daniel BaumTroutman SandersA Triangle resident for 18 years, Daniel is the Senior Manager of Government Relations for Troutman Sanders in Raleigh. He’s been with Band Together for six years, having volunteered, chaired the VIP committee, and co-chaired the Main Event in 2015. Daniel and his wife have a daughter and two sons.Matthew CookeDavis MooreMatthew Cooke has been in the Triangle for nine years and since 2013 with Davis Moore, a professional services and investment firm with expertise in commercial real estate. Matthew started his real estate career in Raleigh-Durham in 2007 with the Staubach Company, now part of the global real estate firm Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). He serves on the Wake County Boys and Girls Club Breakfast of Champions Committee, and was co-chairman of the Young Ambassadors Board of Big Brother Big Sister of the Triangle. Matthew lives in Raleigh with wife of eight years and their son Whit – and they are expecting their second child this fall.Chuck ReCorrMerrill Lynch Private Client GroupChuck ReCorr is a long-time Triangle resident and he has been with Merrill Lynch since 1973, after spending seven years in the U.S. Army. He is Senior Vice President Investments and has been a financial advisor to Individuals and institutional clients for most of his forty years with Merrill Lynch.He has taught finance courses at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey and at North Carolina State University. He was formally the chairman of the board of the Institute for Certified Investment Management Consultants and on the National Board of Directors for the National Association of Corporate Directors. He is also the founder and President of the Research Triangle Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (RTC-NACD.He and his wife reside in Cary and have five adult sons between them.Joan Siefert RoseThe Council for Economic Development (CED)A Triangle resident since 2001, Joan joined the Council for Economic Development (CED) in August 2008 as president. She spent more than 30 years in broadcasting as a radio manager, journalist, and talk show host. In 2001 she was named general manager of WUNC-FM (91.5 FM). She previously held positions at radio stations in Raleigh, Charlotte, Detroit, and Ann Arbor, Michigan.She has served on boards including Carolina Friends School, the North Carolina Symphony, Triangle Land Conservancy, NC IDEA, and the North Carolina School of Science and Math Foundation. She has attended several Band Together concerts and she and her husband have two adult sons – including one punk rocker!Jonathan TaylorParagon BankA North Carolina native, Jonathan Taylor recently joined Paragon Bank as Senior Vice President and Client Development Officer. He was most recently with NewBridge Bank, serving as the area executive for North Carolina’s Triangle region. In 2007, Jonathan was a recipient of Triangle Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Leadership award.He serves as a board member at Just Right Academy in Chapel Hill, is a finance committee member at Apex United Methodist Church, and is active with the Cary MacGregor Rotary Club. Jonathan is also an Eagle Scout and supporter of the local Boy Scouts of America, and he resides in Cary with his wife.
