Band Together Announces 2016 Event Chairs

Seasoned Veterans Take the Helm for 2015-16 Year

Band Together NC, a Triangle-based organization that uses live music as a platform for social change, has announced its volunteer leadership team for the 2016 partnership year with Kidznotes. Christina Coffey, Bo Heath and Cari Swann will serve as event co-chairs in the year-long lead up to its annual event that has produced as much as $2 million in net proceeds for the community.Kidznotes changes the life trajectory of underserved K-12 students through orchestral training, and the 2016 Band Together and Kidznotes partnership goal seeks to raise $1 million. Proceeds raised during the 2016 partnership year will be used to expand the number of students served by Kidznotes in Durham and Raleigh.Coffey, Heath and Swann will lead a team of hundreds of volunteers handling all aspects of the event from fundraising and marketing to VIP experience, silent auction, ticketing and more. All three event chairs are long-serving Band Together volunteers.“Our leadership pipeline continues to provide the best and brightest individuals in our community to serve as Band Together leaders,” said Matt Strickland, executive director of Band Together. “Having worked alongside Christina, Bo and Cari for several years, I couldn’t be more impressed or grateful that they’ve agreed to serve on a larger stage.”Christina Coffey is Vice President of Retail Services with CBRE Raleigh, and she’s been a commercial real estate broker in the Triangle market for over 13 years. She specializes in shopping centers, assisting local and national clients with their retail needs. A North Carolina native and originally from Statesville, she is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.Coffey has served on the Band Together steering committee, nonprofit selection committee, after-work social committee and the VIP committee.Bo Heath is Senior Vice President and Partner at McGuireWoods Consulting and McGuireWoods LLP, and has been with McGuireWoods for six years.  A native of Clinton, North Carolina, he attended NC State University and earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the Campbell Law School at Campbell University.He has volunteered with Band together for 5 years and served in various roles such as layout and logistics, nonprofit partner selection and as VIP committee co-chair.Cari Swann is Manager of Forecasting and Analytics at First Citizens Bank, where she’s worked for almost six years. Originally from Asheville, North Carolina, she has called Raleigh home for the last seven years and is a graduate of NC State University.Swann has been a volunteer since attending her first Band Together main event with Third Eye Blind in 2011 – and she’s been hooked ever since.
