Our First Two LBS Bands

Fat Cheek Kat2Fat Cheek Kat: With a sound that suggests anything but derivative, Fat Cheek Kat (FCK) is a funk movement that is irresistible to most. Featuring horn and guitar driven funk with equal amounts soul, the group is bursting with energy and a charismatic likability that is catching on all over the South East. Currently touring in support of "Systematically" (available on bandcamp) FCK is busy preparing for a new studio release.

NomadicNomadic: The four members of Nomadic owe their growing popularity to their highly captivating and energetic live performances as well as their epic and diverse song structures that range from electronica to anthemic rock. Nomadic's wide range of influences creates an intriguingly new blend of progressive rock, electronica, and funk. These styles all lend to their addictive and undeniably fun grooves, blistering peaks and melodic ballads that are unique and immense. Nomadic brings an energy-packed live sound that is gripping from start to finish. It is an experience not easily forgotten.

StepUp Ministry: Daniel’s Story

StepUp-DanielPutting your life back together after something like prison isn’t easy. You’ve done your time, but fitting back into society and the workforce is full of barriers. That’s why the work of our 2015 nonprofit partner, StepUp Ministry, is so important.Daniel came to StepUp 4 days after completing a 6-year prison sentence. StepUp’s Job Skills Training workshop helped gain back the skills he needed to compete for and win a job in the Triangle. And, thanks to StepUp’s network of business partners, he was introduced to companies around the area who were committed to giving folks a second chance.Find out more through Daniel’s story of perseverance and success at the Band Together blog.back to top

Where are they Now...Jack the Radio

20141213_JTRbehindthescenes01About a year ago, we were first introduced to the guys with Jack the Radio and we grew to really like them. Not only did they win the 2014 Last Band Standing and open our Main Event, but they embraced Band Together and worked hard to promote our events, lend their faces and voices to videos and supply us with backing tracks for our digital story-telling.That’s why we’re taking the time to follow-up with them to hear about life as an up and coming band, juggling other jobs and responsibilities to pursue their love of music. We're going to cover their story (so far) in three blog posts, and we've got the first one ready here.back to top
