It’s The Cahoot! And it’s in less than 2 weeks!
What’s a Cahoot? Simply put…it’s a partnership. And that’s what Band Together is all about, year after year. We have amazing nonprofit partners, but we also develop partnerships with musicians, many who support us and come back to play for you again and again.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONtvd1fAUZsYarn is a great example of the “return offenders” who play our events. They headlined the 2014 Cahoot, and Yarn front man Blake Christiana even turned up for last year’s Celebrity Bartending event. Yarn are crowd favorites with a loyal following – the “Yarmy.” They rev up and get the crowd involved, and it’s impossible not to have a big time at their shows. The 2015 Cahoot is just a couple weeks away – January 17 at City Limits Saloon – and will also feature Kasey Tyndall opening and the Johnny Orr Band taking the stage for the late night party. VIP tickets (3 drink tickets; dinner from Clyde Cooper’s Barbecue, the Oxford and Cameron Bar & Grill, plus early admission) are $75 and General Admission tickets are only $12 in advance ($15 day of the show) and all are available HERE. Check out the artists and make plans to join us for our first party of the New Year!back to top
Foosball Tourney
Back in November our friends at Atlantic BT (ABT) put together a foosball tournament to benefit Band Together and StepUp Ministry. They had a great turnout and the tournament was an action packed success. Several tech companies showed up to win bragging rights to say they won the Inaugural TechFoos Challenge. Players from Redhat, Channel Advisor, Cardinal Solutions, Netsertive, Brand Fuel, RM Source and MassMutual battled for foosball supremacy. But, in the end a team from Channel Advisor took the trophy! The event raised $800 from entry fees and generous donations during the event. For more photos and info, head over to ABT's event site. And, a big thanks to all the players and to ABT for making the event possible.back to top
Allman Bros Band Night
Thanks to the folks who came out for our annual Thanks-Giving Allman Brothers party on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We had a great crowd, awesome music and we raised $600 for our partners, StepUp Ministry. Thanks also to Dave Rose and the folks at Deep South the Bar for hosting us and Cahoot Chair Trey Caudle for pulling it all together.back to top
StepUp Alums
Our 2015 partner, StepUp Ministry, provides career and life skills training to get folks back on their feet. But, they are also deeply committed to ensuring their program participants STAY on the right path and have successful lives. The first step in the StepUp Ministry process is employment. The second step is life-sustainability training. The last, but certainly not final, step is stability. Participants come to StepUp looking to overcome barriers to finding employment. Once employed, they are eligible to apply for a year-long life skills class, where they are taught valuable skills such as; budgeting, goal-setting, and personal/relational development. The last step is StepUp’s Alumni Program, which offers ongoing, weekly training for graduates of the life skills class.Find out more about how StepUp helps people in our community get back on track and see some of just a few of their successful alumni, here!back to top
Volunteering & the Leadership Development
The New Year is officially under way, and we have a HUGE 2015 planned. The Cahoot, Last Band Standing, the Main event…and we need your help. For every event we host, there are tons of “jobs” to fill, and there’s a reason we put it in quotes; because they’re mostly a lot of fun. From helping set up VIP areas at events, working silent auction, fundraising, and checking-in guests to marketing and design work, every role offers the chance to give back, enjoy the party, and meet new friends. And, we pride ourselves on developing leaders and creating opportunities.Every event chair and steering committee leader started off with a small volunteer role. Over time, they keep coming back and asking for more responsibility to lead and impact our community. Find the “job” you love at Band Together and learn more about the leadership opportunities with Band Together by visiting the Roadies section of our site.back to top
