And our 2015 nonprofit partner is…

Well, we actually can’t tell you that yet. We can, however, express our excitement about our two finalists, Kidz Notes, an organization that fights poverty and encourages positive decision making by instructing and engaging children in classical orchestral music, and StepUp Ministry, a community of diverse faiths that partners with adults and children in the shared goal of stable lives through Jobs and Life Skills training. We admire both Triangle-based nonprofits’ dedication to serving our community, and the choice will be very hard. Stay tuned for the final update after they present to our Board of Directors October 30th!back to top

DO Something!

We were pumped to see our very own Matt Strickland’s guest article featured in Cary Magazine’s e-newsletter for his tribute to the heroes of 9/11. Matt’s words are not to be taken lightly; true goodness can come at the darkest times, and good people can band together to bring meaning and purpose and affect positive change out of adversity. Matt’s article can be found here.back to top

9/11 Day of Service: Success!

aglogoOur volunteers, the Band Together Roadies combined forces with volunteers from across the Triangle on 9/11 for a Day of Service, coordinated by Activate Good. Throughout the day, more than 1,200 volunteers representing more than 40 groups around the Trdayofservice2iangle came out to assist with various service projects for the community, including 350 attendees at the evening commemoration event at Red Hat Amphitheatre! We enjoyed live music by Mary Selvidge and Last Band Standing alum, Chris Hendricks Band. A big thank you goes out to all of our volunteers for their continued support of events throughout our wonderful community. Be on the lookout for details on additional Roadies events coming up in November!back to top

Moose Tracks

Matt Alice 2013I am one of those increasingly rare people you meet who was born and raised in the Triangle. I am very proud to be from the Triangle. We are a hotbed for business, education and culture. If you want it, we have it: a strong economy, top-tier colleges, an entrepreneurial hotbed, amazing restaurants and fantastic live music and cultural events. These things did not happen by accident. We made them happen…citizens of the Triangle…young and old, locals and outsiders, rich and poor, black and white and everyone in between. We are a great example of a diverse population that believes in the common good.We may not always agree on everything, but it is evident that we all love and believe in this community we call home. That is why I love Band Together and invite you out to join our crazy family. We all come from different backgrounds, but are united by a common passion to do good in our community and use live music as the vehicle to make a deep impact. I hope you will join me at Motorco in Durham on October 24 to find out how you can join Band Together, one of the many reasons the Triangle is so great! Take care.back to top
