Band Together Volunteer President and Founder Wins 2012 Goodmon Award
Danny Rosin Receives Prestigious Recognition in Community Service Category Raleigh, N.C., Nov. 29, 2012 — Danny Rosin, volunteer president and co-founder of Band Together NC, a Triangle-based organization that uses live music as a platform for social change, has been recognized by Leadership Triangle with the 2012 Goodmon Award for Community Service.The Goodmon Awards, put together by the nonprofit Leadership Triangle, aim to recognize regionally-minded leaders in the community. All winners will be recognized at the awards ceremony on December 3, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. in Bay 7 of the American Tobacco Campus in Durham.Rosin, winner in the Community Service category recognizing leadership and innovation, has made his impact on the Triangle over the past several decades through his involvement in various local nonprofits and civic causes, including Band Together. Under his leadership, the organization has grown in size and scope each year since its founding in 2001. Rosin’s heavy involvement as volunteer president, board member and volunteer of Band Together has directly and positively impacted 5,000+ community residents by addressing the regional issues of disaster relief, disabilities, hunger, child mentorship, education, child abuse, unemployment and healthcare. Over the past 11 years, Band Together has donated more than $2.1 million to 13 nonprofits.“The Triangle is a special place to live – and to support. This award is an honor for me but is really more of a reflection of the good work Band Together as a collective does.
