The Main Event – Just a Week (+) Away!
It’s. Almost. Here. The 2016 Main Event will kick off May 14 at Red Hat Amphitheater, with Trampled By Turtles (TBT), The Devil Makes Three (TDM3) and an opening set by Last Band Standing winner Dr. Bacon. This year looks to be our biggest and most exciting show ever, with progressive bluegrass by TBT and Americana from TDM3. And in case you missed Last Band Standing, Dr. Bacon will be bringing the funk.
And as a special treat, the Kidznotes All Stars will play before the final band – so everyone can see just how impressive the young musicians are and the benefits of Kidznotes. We’re thrilled to be closing in on our $1 MILLION goal with Kidznotes which will help double the number of K-12 underserved students in their Raleigh and Durham programs.
Tickets start at $20 and this year ALL concertgoers will have access to our Silent Auction with amazing travel and vacations, jewelry, sports memorabilia, dining/food/wine and more. Every dollar raised in Silent Auction or through raffle tickets goes towards our $1 Million goal.

Last Band Standing 2016
We had a great night at Lincoln Theatre, but the big winner was Dr. Bacon! Bringing their blend of Appalachian funk-grass, the band wowed the crowd from the first note and now they are opening the Main Event. A big thanks to our other bands – Bryan Elijah Smith & The Wild Hearts and Rebekah Todd & The Odyssey and of course our late night band, Yarn.
Thank you also to panel of judges: Taylor Traversari with Live Nation; Sara Waters from Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival; and Marianne Taylor with Marianne Taylor Music. And the event would not be possible without the support of Leadership Raleigh and our generous event sponsors: Red Hat; Insight Global; Hayward Baker, Inc; Brasfield & Gorrie; Veredus; Jim Graves; Harris, Wiltshire and Grannis, LLP; Bella Monica; RA Jeffries; DocuSource NC; Lincoln Theatre; Robert Half; The Select Group; Spectraforce; Raleigh East Concrete Construction; and Barnhill Contracting.

Prepare your sacks—you’re invited to enter the 1st annual Tech Toss Challenge. Hosted by Atlantic BT and benefitting Band Together, this cornhole competition brings together top hurlers from across the Triangle’s technology community. There’s no better time to share drinks with tech experts from companies like Lenovo United States, Red Hat, and Citrix while chucking bean bags for a good cause. ABT is also bringing back their popular Thirsty Thursday summer series. Join us as we scarf down burgers and enjoy crafty beverages. It’s a great opportunity to grill n’ chill with the ABT community.
The suggested donation for each 2-person cornhole team is $20, and ABT is donating 100 percent of the funds to our work with Triangle area nonprofits. Click HERE to RSVP and share the event.
