Raleigh, N.C. (March 29, 2016) – Band Together NC, a Triangle-based organization that uses live music as a platform for social change, has announced the addition of Penn Holderness, managing partner at Greenroom Communications, to its advisory board. Holderness will join the existing advisory board of 53 business and community leaders.
Holderness, a native of Durham, NC, is a graduate of the University of Virginia and prior to joining Greenroom Communications he worked in broadcast news for television stations around the U.S. He also worked with HGTV and ESPN before returning to North Carolina. In addition to his work at Greenroom, Holderness and his family are widely-recognized throughout social media due to their successful series of viral videos.
“We are thrilled to add someone with Penn’s talents and creativity to our advisory board,” said Matt Strickland, executive director of Band Together. “His love of this community and passion for making the Triangle an even better place to live, work and raise a family will help Band Together continue to grow and positively impact the Triangle and beyond.”
Holderness served as emcee for multiple Main Event concerts and will continue to act as host for select upcoming events. Additionally, Greenroom Communications will provide in-kind digital and communications consulting services to Band Together.
During their three-year term, advisory board members’ responsibilities include annual and long-term fundraising and giving feedback and advice to the Band Together board of directors.
