Get your Tickets Now – Michael Franti & Spearhead

AnnounceWe couldn’t be more excited to welcome back an old friend to the Band Together stage, Michael Franti. Franti & Spearhead played our 2010 Main Event, when our nonprofit partner was none other than StepUp Ministry. This double repeat promises to be a bigger show, bigger venue (Red Hat Amphitheater!) and bigger check to our partner, as we are on track to raise $2 Million for the Band Together/StepUp Ministry partnership.

Singer-songwriter-guitarist, filmmaker and humanitarian, Michael Franti, puts on an amazing show full of energy, and he’ll be joined by Elliot Root (who is part of Franti’s “Once a Day” tour) and Fat Cheek Kat, winner of the 2015 Last Band Standing. And we’ve got even one more band to add to the lineup – stay tuned! Plus – there will be a late night event at Deep South Bar, where we will support local favorites, The ArchBishops of Blount Street.

Tickets are incredibly reasonable and on sale through e-tix starting at just $20 (plus fees) for lawn tickets, and other seats are from $30 to $65 (for box seats, which include table service!). Or, roll VIP-style and get premier viewing, drinks, dinner, late night snacks, plus access to the Silent Auction, Artists’ Village and more for $195. There are only 200 VIP tickets available! Come be a part of the Southeast’s Largest Charitable Music Event and help us hit the $2 Million mark!

Who won Last Band Standing?!

Fat Cheek KatWe had our biggest and best Last Band Standing ever last month. Nearly 500 fans came out to support Kaira Ba, Nomadic, Dark Water Rising and the winning band, Fat Cheek Kat – who walk away with $3,500 and earned the opening slot at the Franti show. And, we raised more than $10,000 to benefit Band Together’s 2015 nonprofit partnership with StepUp Ministry.

Read all about the event HERE , and prepare yourself for more Fat Cheek Kat on June 27 at Red Hat Amphitheater. Thanks to our four judges: Matt Carter of Yep Roc Records; Sara Waters, Coordinator for Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival; Taylor Traversari, of Red Hat Amphitheater; and Lee Crumpton of Home Grown Music. And also a big thanks to our generous sponsors for the event, including First Citizens Bank, Poyner Spruill, Bella Monica, Red Hat and more.

Thank you to Trimark Digital for another AWESOME video!

Will Bowen is on BOTH Band Together and StepUp Ministry’s Boards

Will Bowen_BlogBand Together is fortunate to have dedicated leaders serving on our board, all with deep ties to our community. But in Will Bowen, we’ve got something more; he’s ALSO on the board of directors for StepUp Ministry, our 2015 nonprofit partner. This allows both organizations to have complete transparency, which helps us achieve our goals. Will has served on the StepUp board for five years, and is committed to making the Triangle a better place.

And, now that he’s also on the Band Together board, he’s demonstrating his commitment to having a little more fun along the way, too. Learn more about Will, his professional life, the causes he cares about and what he does outside of work in our recent blog profile.

Lots of Great Volunteer “Jobs” this year

Hard to believe, but there’s only SEVEN WEEKS to go until our Michael Franti concert at Red Hat Amphitheater on June 27. And we need your help. If you’re on the fence about going to the show, and thinking “surely they need volunteers?” The answer is “we do!” There are lots of awesome “jobs” – but they don’t really feel like jobs. They are too much fun. Volunteer roles include supporting VIP, Silent Auction, Volunteer check-in, and there’s even a job called “Hugs and High-Fives!!” Find out more and sign up by visiting our Sign-Up Site.
