Band Together donates $11,702 and packs over 10,000 meals for Haitian Relief Efforts

We are fortunate enough, with your pledges, to be able to donate $11,702 to Stop Hunger Now who has shipped more than 250,000 meals, bottled water and medical supplies to Haiti. We also worked with several area businesses to help package over 10,000 of those meals. Thank you again for helping us respond to this disaster as well as stay close to our heritage of being born a call-to-action group.

Event Testimonial

"The dedicated team of volunteers that comprise Band Together is exceptional in every way. They devoted themselves to understanding the mission of the Lucy Daniels Center and making it their own as they shared our story and sought support from the community. BT is a testament to the power a group of volunteers can have to inspire others to give and get involved, even during difficult economic times. In addition to presenting incredible concerts, BT builds community between sponsors, volunteers, and music lovers. They inspired our board, advisory board, staff, and parents to rally together around a common goal. The funds, community awareness for children’s mental health, and positive energy generated from this event have given the Center a new base of support that we can build on for years to come! We thank everyone involved with Band Together and look forward to paying it forward by volunteering in future years."

President's Letter

A message from our President and Co-Founder…

Thank you for your interest in Band Together NC, making the Triangle a better place to live, and for giving us a passion to champion our cause.

It’s hard to believe less than 10 years ago, Band Together was just a vision. But positive outcomes can result from tragic events, and that’s where our story begins. I know you remember where you were on September 11, 2001, but do you remember how you felt? Helpless perhaps? Wanting to help but unsure where to start? Well thankfully, at the time, there was a strong network of friends who believed in a famous quote by Margaret Mead:

"A small group of people can change this world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

So, we formed Band Together under a mission to raise funds for select Triangle charities through events that showcased and supported musical talent. Music was and remains our gateway to unite once a year and enjoy something we all take for granted — our community.

It’s been eight years since we had that vision, and we’ve matured into a fully recognized 501(c)(3) with no paid staff, yet with passionate volunteers and sponsors we have grown successfully in a sustainable manner. Looking back, our hearts are full when we realize we’ve donated $700,000 to 10 charities with the help of our community!

It may have taken a tragic event to wake us from our slumber, but we’ve all got a better sense of community, philanthropic responsibility and a passion that burns brighter every year to positively impact The Triangle. In 2010, we have one simple goal — draw an audience of 3,000+ with great live music, donate $150,000 to StepUP, and have a great time making it happen!

Well, OK, we might have another “tiny” goal in mind — to become North Carolina’s premier charity music event, raising $300,000 a year and drawing a crowd of 25,000 people. We hope you will join us for the exciting ride.

From vision to reality,

Danny Rosin
